Job Title: Industrial Maintenance Mechanic
Location: Bartow, FL
Classification: Temp to Perm
Start Date: Immediately
Salary: $14 - $19 or DOE
· Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production and utility equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems.
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions using testing devices, schematics, manuals, and operator feedback.
- Install, align, adjust, and maintain production machinery and equipment.
- Inspect machinery for wear, damage, and potential failures; replace or repair components as needed.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Document maintenance activities, parts usage, and work orders in the EMaint management system.
- Support machine changeovers, equipment installations, and continuous improvement projects.
- Follow maintenance schedules and communicate equipment issues or repair needs to supervisors.
- Operate safely by following Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space, Arc Flash, and other OSHA safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and comply with GMP, FDA, USDA, and company food safety requirements.
- Be available to work overtime, weekends, and extended shifts as business needs require.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Preferred Skills
- Welding and metal fabrication.
- Basic electrical troubleshooting.
- Experience with machine shop equipment (mill, lathe, drill press, saws).
- Forklift certification.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Qualifications
- Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent combination of education and industrial maintenance experience preferred.
- Experience maintaining manufacturing equipment in an industrial or food production environment.
- PLC-controlled equipment experiences preferred.
- SAP or CMMS experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read technical drawings and equipment manuals.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
